Calvary Baptist School, a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, is a private school offering a challenging educational program in a nurturing Christian environment. The purpose of CBS is to develop godliness of character and action in the lives of our students. We desire to be an extension of Christian homes and to reinforce the Biblical values taught at church and home. Our students are expected to demonstrate self-discipline, high morals, good habits, respect for students and staff, responsibility, and a love of God and country. One of our main goals is to help our students meet their potential for Jesus Christ is every area. The Bible, while not being the only textbook, will be taught and its principles will be the foundation for all other learning. We also provide an outstanding education in the core subject areas (math, science, English, history, and computers), along with a wide variety of electives.
In September of 1968, Calvary Baptist School began classes for kindergarten through 6th grade with 118 students. By 1973, all twelve grades were offered and CBS graduated its first senior class.
Foundations Christian Preschool was founded in the fall of 2005 with an initial enrollment of 21 preschool and kindergarten students and has grown to over 125 students.
Our total preschool through twelfth-grade enrollment has grown from 218 in the fall of 2005 to over 460 students. Graduates from Calvary Baptist School are serving Christ throughout the world through a variety of means.
Our Core Values
Because we value this teamwork and the interdependence of the body of Christ that God designed, we value working together as staff along with parents and the church in our work with students. We can only succeed in teaching the students when their primary teachers—their parents—are playing their God-given role. (See Deut. 6:4-7; Deut. 11:19-22; Eph. 6:4)
Biblical Approach to Learning
Biblical & Critical Thinking
Stewardship & Service
All people are worthy of respect and should be treated with dignity. We value those whom God has made in His image. Sacrificial service toward others frees us from the poverty of living for self. Because we are created for fellowship with God and others, we thrive when we are purposeful. Helping students develop selfless character and relational skills are essential for a Christ-like walk. (See 1 Cor. 13; 1 John 3:16-18; Acts 20:35)
Evangelism & Missions Awareness
We are convinced that the deepest need of every person in the world is a relationship with the living God through Jesus Christ. Calvary Baptist School seeks to do its part to make our students aware of the needs of others, both physically and spiritually, at home and around the world and is committed to participating in practical efforts of assistance. (See Mt. 28:19; Acts 1:8; Rev. 5:9-10)
