Performing Arts
Drama at Calvary Baptist School is an exciting way to explore and develop confidence and creativity! Learn theatrical skills like character development, stage presence, projection, enunciation, and memorization. We strive for excellence while working together as a team to glorify God and share His love.
General information – At CBS, we believe that God can use the art of storytelling and theater to reveal the truth about who He is, who we are, and how we should live in light of His Truth. Our Drama Department provides opportunities for high school students to strive for excellence as they learn about various aspects of drama and theater.
Students learn projection, enunciation, character development, script memorization, and stage presence as well as communication, teamwork, and confidence. They then use these tools to develop believable characters through dialogue and physical movement.
Major performances include a Fall Dinner Theater and a full-length Spring Production. Students also participate in preschool chapel programs, dramatic skits, ministry opportunities, and trips to local theatrical performances.
Drama class is one of the most stretching and fun things you can do at CBS!
